Year 7s in Arqueopinto 2013

I hope you are enjoying a great day out in Arqueopinto. I could not go with you this year but I do remember my visit the last one (2012) and it was a wonderful day out with lots of activities and workshops where year 7s did experience things I have been explaining to you in the first and second term. Our monitor did explain very well the evolution of settlements, as we did in Geography last term and other issues about different tribes and groups of people such as Celts, Iberians and Romans, as we did in History too. He gave us incredible information about the evolution of people and cultures, the same as María did in "Conocimiento del medio". So I am sure you have got the same information and activities, I do remember that over all the workshop we enjoyed quite a lot was watching and practicing the war techniques of Romans and when we learnt and saw the evolution of us all (humans) in this planet since 4.000.000 millions of years ago until nowadays. I am sure you had a great time too!!! Here you have some pictures of your trip of today, María just sent to me so I am posting them too. It is great to see how quick you have learnt the "testudo" as I have taught you in our history lessons.

Contest / Concurso Antena3 TV "Te toca"

There are good news for students of year 8 and any other student from 9, 10 and 11. (Sorry, no year 7s) :-( 
Antena 3 TV is running an event called "te toca". If you remember in year 8 we have been talking about non-renewable and renewable sources of energy, and the problems and solutions to the environment. Last year Antena 3TV gave the opportunity to students to create different projects to help the environment and get some important prizes too. Here you have a LINK with the video of the finalist (3rd position).

This year they are running another programme based on how to improve the school where you are. If you are interested , have a look to this link , they explain you very well what you need to do and the deadlines. Be careful because it started already and it will not last long.

Year 8s Reina Sofía Modern Art Museum

 We are just back from a wonderful day out visiting one of the most important modern art museum in the world. We have learnt a little bit more about modern art and we need to send a BIG thank you to our guides during our visit to the museum, they were two wonderful volunteers. I hope you enjoyed the Retiro park as well where we had lunch and wonderful spring weather. 

REVISION TIME.... IGCSE!!!

Dear year 11s,

As I said in our lesson today.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!  Get ready for the most exciting time of your life!

In May and June you are going to have your IGCSE Geography exam. In order for you to succeed, you need to properly organize your time, to study accordingly to the exam requirements (read the given Geography IGCSE revision sets) and to revise properly.

I am including some useful webpages on here too. But you can revise using all the information I did provide during the lessons and the revision set created that I handed in to you in the last lesson to help you with this important event of the IGCSE.

Remember that we will use past papers to revise in April and we will be doing them under the same exam conditions.

Enjoy Easter but do not forget to create a timetable to revise not just Geography but all the IGCSE subjects.
