Spring Fair 2014

Next Friday (25 / 04 / 14) we will celebrate the Spring Fair. As far as I know you have been working on the different stuff you will bring and things you will do and  get ready for your stall on that day. I just hope we all have a great day and we should collect as much as possible.

REMEMBER: All the money that we will collect will be for charity, and as we did last year we have chosen the important NGO.... "Save the children".
So, we should devote our most serious efforts to collect lots of money for this organization.

Google Celebrates Earth Day

Earth Day 2014 has been marked with a collection of five animated doodles on the Google homepage, showing the Rufous hummingbird, the veiled chameleon, the moon jellyfish, the dung beetle, a puffer fish and a pair of Japanese macaques.

Celebrated on 22nd April, Earth Day was first proposed by John McConnell in 1969 at the UNESCO Conference in San Fransisco. However, he put forth the idea to celebrate the day on 21st March. Soon after his suggestion was put forth, Gaylord Nelson, a US senator proposed having 22nd April as Earth Day instead. His suggestion was taken up and since then, the 22nd of April is celebrated as  International Mother Earth Day every year.

Year 7 in Arqueopinto

We are back from a great day in Arqueopinto. It was a wonderful day out with lots of activities and workshops where you did experience things I have been explaining to you in the first and second term. José and Raúl (our tour guides) did explain very well the evolution of settlements, as we did in Geography last term and other issues about different tribes and groups of people such as Celts, Iberians (Carpetanos) and Romans, as we did in History too. They gave us incredible information about the evolution of people and cultures, the same as María did in "Conocimiento del medio". Over all I think the activity we enjoyed quite a lot was watching and practicing the war techniques of Romans and when we learnt and saw the evolution of us all (humans) in this planet since 4.000.000 millions of years ago until nowadays. Here you have some pictures of our day out.
